“Sé7ima é o poder”: as influências de medidas institucionais nas práticas corporais e vivências de torcedores organizados

Abstract

Nowadays, violence and organized crowd have been placed as important objects of investigation in soccer studies. Thus, this paper aims to describe and discuss how the creation of violence prevention regulations in soccer stadiums, impacted the experiences and modes of action of supporters who are members of a subgroups of an organized crowd, based in the city of Belo Horizonte/MG. To this end, we carried out fieldwork, between the years 2014 to 2017, interviewing members of an organized crowd and residents of “Sé7ima” – an area inhabited by people who have a low socioeconomic status, located in the Northwest region of the capital of Minas Gerais. The organization of theoretical and empirical material took place from the survey of regulations related to the alteration of the Supporter´s Defense Statute in 2010 and the implementation of the Special Criminal Court (JECrim), together with the observation of elements related to the reform of the Mineirão Stadium and to the reports of organized fans about these facts. As a result, we can say that the studied group started to adopt new body practices in the stands, characterized by a greater concern to control the behavior of the fans and by the institutionalization of rules within the groups itself in order to protect the organized crowd from penalties for behaviors judged to be inadequate.
