Background: The firearm violence in Brazil presents a relationship with the victim's socioeconomic conditions. The maxillofacial injury is often found in these cases and can be a result of a deliberate attempt to hit the victim's face. Objectivesl: This study analyzed the spatial pattern of the maxillofacial injuries due to firearms from the victims’ place of residence and investigated the victimization potential by the city's neighborhoods. Methods: The victims’ registers from three Belo Horizonte's (Brazil) hospitals, between January 2008 and December 2010 were georeferenced by geocodification. To count the cases’ number per neighborhood, it was used the Spatial Join's procedure. To study the victimization potential, a multicriteria analysis was used by combining sociodemographic variables from the 2010 Brazilian Demographic Census from the victims place of residence. To this analyze were consider the variants that pointed the worse conditions from the victims’ residence and neighborhood Findings: Were identified 350 maxillofacial injury victims due to firearm violence. The residence location revealed a 4 hotspots formation with a high victimization probability. Neighborhoods with a higher probability presented a well-defined spatial pattern, revealing a clusters of victims residences. Conclusion: The identification of vulnerable population due to firearm violence must be a priority reference to develop heath and security public policy aiming the maxillofacial traumatism reduction.pt_BR
