Abstract: | The proper use of air conditioning system requires cooling capacity calculation due to thermal load. The cooling capacity (heat transfer rate to be removed from the environment) depends on several factors such as: size of environment, number of people on it, weather conditions among others. This calculation can be performed on free or licensed commercial software. In this work, we sought to improve a methodology using the Python programming language, performing the calculation for two environments located in three different cities. The calculations were based on ABNT NBR 15220 and ABNT NBR 16401 standards. For comparative purposes, the commercial software Block Load was used. It was observed that the cooling capacity for both environments, obtained by Python and Block Load, showed a similar trend line. Regarding the maximum cooling capacity considering a variation of +/-20%, there was an adequacy of 67% of the analyzed points for environment 1 and 78% for environment 2. |
