| Abstract: | Our research proposes an investigation of the work 1984, by George Orwell, from a Marxist critical approach. We relate the idea of truth to the fundamental dimensions of knowledge: philosophy, history, and language. We seek to situate, through Orwell's work, the process of devaluation of the idea of objective truth and the legitimacy of history, contextualising his production amid the fragmentation process suffered by human beings in the modern era and the rise of authoritarianism in Europe in the first half of the twentieth century. |
| Abstract: | Nossa pesquisa propõe uma investigação da obra 1984, de George Orwell, a partir de uma abordagem crítica marxista. Relacionamos a ideia de verdade com as dimensões fundamentais do conhecimento: filosofia, história e linguagem. Buscamos situar, por meio da obra de Orwell, o processo de desvalorização da ideia de verdade objetiva e de legitimidade da história, contextualizando sua produção em meio ao processo de fragmentação sofrido pelo ser humano na era moderna e a ascensão do autoritarismo na Europa na primeira metade do século XX. |
