O território da pipoca nos arranjos organizativos de trabalhadores ambulantes belorizontinos

Abstract

This work aims to understand the working territory of the popcorn sellers in the city of Belo Horizonte. For the study, which is qualitative, we conducted sixty-two semi-structured interviews with the workers in the hospital region and in the central region of the city. For a better understanding of the data, we opted for the Linguistic Analysis of Speech technique (ALD) and look at the following category of analysis: Is the street free? Daily life and distribution of popcorn sellers in the center of Belo Horizonte. In view of this, we know of the existence of three groups of active ppopcorn sellers and that the worker's attachment to each of them influences different ways of using urban space. Finally, we can verify the constant dispute between the spaces, resulting from the relations of power between the different popcorn sellers. These relationships are evidenced in disputes by points of sale, by releases and control of licenses to work, by political power with official bodies, and disputes over size, influence and significance of the entities that represent these workers.
