| Abstract: | O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar os processos de circulação no Brasil da obra Tratado pratico de gymnastica sueca, de L. G. Kumlien. Para isso, foi necessário rastrear a trajetória e as ações realizadas por seu autor. Kumlien, sueco, medico-gymnasta, que se muda para Paris em 1895, onde realiza diferentes movimentos para a divulgação da ginástica sueca, dentre eles, a escrita de manuais. O Tratado é uma obra que foi tomada como material didático, no Brasil, até meados dos anos 1930. Circulou, foi lido e serviu de orientação para a constituição de uma educação do corpo. Esse estudo contribui para a compreensão das formas pelas quais a ginástica sueca adentrou o país, particularmente por meio de manuais. | Abstract: | The present study aimed to identify the circulation of the manual Tratado pratico de gymnastica sueca, produced by L. G. Kumlien, in Brazil. For this, it was necessary an investigation of the author’s life and actions. Kumlien, Swedish, doctor-gymnastics, moved to Paris in 1895, where he promoted different movements in order to spread out the Swedish gymnastics, including writing manuals. These were used as an educational material in Brazil until the mid-30’s. It has circulated, was read and served as a guideline for building up a conception of body education. The study contributes for the understanding of the ways by which the Swedish gymnastics has entered the country, particularly through manuals. The manuals as well as Brazilian and French newspapers were the main references. |
