| Abstract: | Ao se reconhecer no moderno o caráter patrimonial nas obras do Movimento Moderno e se postular sua preservação, está-se desvelando, de forma acentuada, a dialética que preside toda operação de preservação – aquela entre mudança e continuidade. Como sabemos, no caso do acervo do século XX as dificuldades são muitas e de ordens variadas: desde o próprio conceito – controverso – de moderno, até a dificuldade de se encarar a preservação de manifestações culturais tão próximas no tempo, passando por problemas advindos das tecnologias construtivas empregadas e as inúmeras conotações, positivas e negativas, atribuídas a esse tipo de arquitetura. Nas últimas décadas, esses desafios têm sido encarados com seriedade por várias instituições de patrimônio ao redor do mundo, com a multiplicação de inventários, simpósios científicos, publicações e propostas de preservação e intervenção sobre esse patrimônio. Este artigo pretende apresentar a atuação institucional do ICOMOS/BRASIL no que se refere ao patrimônio do século XX, mostrando como também aqui multiplicam-se as ações dessa instituição. Para isso, partimos de uma rápida exposição sobre a (re)organização institucional do Comitê Brasileiro do ICOMOS, em curso desde 2015, para abordar os esforços sistemáticos deste, como a criação do Comitê Científico Brasileiro do Patrimônio do Século XX, os relatórios de monitoramento dos sítios patrimônio da humanidade e a realização de simpósios científicos anuais, destacando-se o de 2018, cujo tema foi justamente “Os desafios da preservação do moderno”. Além disso, o artigo se debruça sobre dois projetos específicos que encaram esse desafio: a “Missão Pampulha”, que se dispõe a criar um Sistema de Monitoramento Preventivo/ Gestão Turística Sustentável para os sítios patrimônios da humanidade, tomando como estudo de caso piloto o Conjunto Moderno da Pampulha; e as “Jornadas França-Brasil”, onde se cria uma cooperação entre os dois países para o aprofundamento dos estudos e propostas para a preservação do patrimônio moderno em concreto armado |
| Abstract: | By recognizing the heritage character in the works of the Modern Movement and postulating their preservation, the dialectic that presides over every preservation operation - the one between change and continuity - is being unveiled. As we know, in the case of the 20th century heritage, the difficulties are many and varied: from the very - controversial - concept of modern, to the difficulty of facing the preservation of cultural manifestations so close in time, to problems arising from the construction technologies used and the many connotations, positive and negative, attributed to this type of architecture. In the last decades, these challenges have been taken seriously by several heritage institutions around the world, with the multiplication of inventories, scientific symposia, publications, and proposals for preservation and intervention on this heritage. This article intends to present the institutional presence of ICOMOS/BRAZIL regarding the 20th century heritage, showing how the actions of this institution are also multiplied here. To do so, we start from a quick exposition on the institutional (re)organization of the Brazilian Committee of ICOMOS, underway since 2015, to address its systematic efforts, such as the creation of the Brazilian Scientific Committee on 20th-Century Heritage, the monitoring reports of the World Heritage Sites, and the realization of annual scientific symposia, highlighting the 2018 one, whose theme was precisely "The challenges of preserving the modern". In addition, the article delves into two specific projects that face this challenge: the "Pampulha Mission", which sets out to create a Preventive Monitoring System/ Sustainable Tourism Management for World Heritage Sites, taking as a pilot case study the Pampulha Modern Ensemble; and the "France-Brazil Journeys", where a cooperation between the two countries is created for the deepening of studies and proposals for the preservation of modern heritage in reinforced concrete |
