dc.description.abstractEste artigo apresenta a forte assimetria e o coeficiente de variação consolados como generalizações das medidas padrão do coeficiente de assimetria e variância de Pearson. Utilizando estas novas medidas, é introduzido o conceito de assimetria forte. Provamos que a desigualdade mediana-média é válida para esse tipo de distribuição, mas mesmo nesse caso não existe relação entre moda e mediana. Uma propriedade semelhante à dominância estocástica de primeira ordem é provada para o coeficiente de variação. Também discutimos as implicações desse conceito na economia.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoThis paper introduces the consoled strong asymmetry and variation coefficient as generalizations of the standard measures of Pearson skewness coefficient and variance. Using these new measures, the concept of strong asymmetry is introduced. We prove that the median-mean inequality is valid for that kind of distribution, but even in that case, there is no relation between mode and median. A property similar to first-order stochastic dominance is proved for the variation coefficient. We also discuss the implications of that concept into economics.pt_BR
