| Abstract: | Study on the phylogeny and growing availability of DNA sequence data of acariform mites. The article discuss the insights from a recently published, representative timetree, pointing out to some future directions for the Acariformes phylogenetic studies, such as: (i) include as many family level clades as possible; (ii) address the basal relationships among the Trombidiformes and Parasitengona; (iii) use the Birth-Death class of models in timetree inference requiring a more evenly distributed sampling of the acariform diversity, and (iv) include morphological datasets to better integrate fossils into timetree inference (a tip dating approach). |
| Abstract: | Estudo sobre a filogenia e crescente disponibilidade de dados de sequências de DNA de ácaros acariformes. O artigo discute os insights de uma árvore filogenética representativa recentemente publicada, apontando algumas direções futuras para os estudos filogenéticos de Acariformes, tais como: (i) incluir tantos clados de nível familiar quanto possível; (ii) abordar as relações basais entre os Trombidiformes e Parasitengona; (iii) usar a classe de modelos Nascimento-Morte na inferência da árvore temporal, exigindo uma amostragem mais uniformemente distribuída da diversidade acariforme, e (iv) incluir conjuntos de dados morfológicos para melhor integrar os fósseis na inferência da árvore filogenética (uma abordagem de datação de ponta). |
