| Abstract: | Este trabalho analisa as principais contribuições dos Reatores Regeneradores Rápidos (FBR), considerando aspectos de sua evolução histórica e tecnológica. Será apresentada uma revisão histórica do desenvolvimento desse tipo de reator ao redor do mundo, além dos reatores rápidos usados atualmente e uma visão dos projetos. Nesse contexto, avaliam-se as perspectivas tecnológicas para a construção de reatores rápidos de IV geração, os quais têm, como principal objetivo, produzir material físsil e proporcionar melhor aproveitamento do combustível; além de possibilitar a transmutação de transurânicos durante seu funcionamento. Tudo isso torna a energia nuclear mais sustentável e o ciclo do combustível mais extenso. Na análise serão considerados os aspectos tecnológicos, e as principais falhas nos diferentes modelos produzidos. A discussão final apresenta os aspectos mais importantes de projetos para implantação de reatores rápidos. |
| Abstract: | This work analyzes the main contributions of Fast Regenerator Reactors (FBR), considering aspects of their historical and technological evolution. A historical review of the development of this type of reactor around the world will be presented, in addition to the fast reactors currently used and an overview of the projects. In this context, the technological perspectives for the construction of IV generation fast reactors are evaluated, which have, as their main objective, to produce fissile material and provide better use of the fuel; in addition to enabling the transmutation of transuranics during its operation. All of this makes nuclear energy more sustainable and the fuel cycle more extensive. The analysis will consider technological aspects and the main flaws in the different models produced. The final discussion presents the most important aspects of projects for implementing fast reactors. |
