dc.description.abstractThis study, which aims to analyze the presence of the popular culture theme in the correspondence between Mário de Andrade and Fernando Sabino, starts from the concept of popular culture analyzed by Chartier and from the studies by Gelado and Ribeiro to understand how the theme was treated in the Americas and in Brazil . Then, it seeks to understand how Mário de Andrade’s nationalist project is inserted in the context of the valorization of popular culture by the modernist vanguards. Finally, he highlights the importance of marioandradina epistolography for his intellectual project and analyzes how the theme of popular culture was introduced to the writer Fernando Sabino.pt_BR
