| Abstract: | O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar duas visões sobre a relação entre a parresía e a retórica. A fundamentação teórica é composta pelo curso A coragem da verdade, de Michel Foucault e pelo livro Platão e a retórica de filósofos e sofistas, de Marina MacCoy. De um lado, para Foucault (2011), esses dois campos do saber devem ser distanciados: o parresiasta seria diferente do sofista. De outro, para McCoy (2010), eles devem ser aproximados: existiria uma retórica filosófica e uma retórica sofista. Este estudo possui natureza epistemológica, na medida em que ambiciona contrastar duas visões acerca da relação entre filosofia e retórica, discutindo particularmente as modalidades de veridicção e as estratégias retóricas manifestadas no discurso de Sócrates. |
| Abstract: | The aim of this paper is to present two views on the relationship between parrhesia and rhetoric. The theoretical foundation is composed by the course A coragem da verdade, by Michel Foucault and Platão e a retórica de filósofos e sofistas, by Marina MacCoy. On the one hand, for Foucault (2011), these two fields of knowledge must be distanced: the parrhesiast would be different from the sophist. On the other hand, for McCoy (2010), they must be approximated: there would be a philosophical rhetoric and a sophist rhetoric. This tudy has an epistemological nature, as it aims to contrast two views on the relationship between philosophy and rhetoric, particularly discussing the modalities of veridiction and the rhetorical strategies manifested in Socrates’ discourse. |
