| Abstract: | Este artigo visa estabelecer uma representação da figura poética enquanto exploradora do imaginário, mostrando-se como é configurada a relação entre a inspiração poética e a liberdade espiritual. Tomando-se como ponto de partida o paralelo existente entre a criação poética, vista como fruto da inspiração visionária, e a imaginação Romântica, enquanto representação dessa manifestação literária, almeja-se observar o diálogo intertextual e estilístico da literatura de língua portuguesa com a literatura de língua inglesa, a partir de exemplos significativos das obras dos poetas Fernando Pessoa e Walt Whitman. Essas figuras representativas, devidamente inseridas em seus contextos histórico-literários, servirão como fundamentação para se debater o estudo da identidade/alteridade, a ser encontrado no diálogo entre as representações literárias da língua portuguesa e outras literaturas, neste caso, a de língua inglesa. |
| Abstract: | This article aims at establishing a representation of the poetic figure as an explorer of the imaginary, showing the configuration between poetic inspiration and spiritual freedom. Taking as a starting point the parallel between poetic creation, to be seen as visionary inspiration, and the Romantic imagination, as a representation of such literary manifestation, this text intends to observe the intertextual dialogue between the literature in English and that in Portuguese, from their significant examples in the works of Fernando Pessoa and Walt Whitman. These figures, carefully inserted in their literary and historical contexts will serve as foundation to debate the study of identity/alterity, to be found in the dialogue between the aforementioned literatures. |
