| Abstract: | O artigo apresenta o projeto Museus das Rexistências, que foi premiado no concurso Reimagining Museums for Climate Action, promovido pela UK Arts and Humanities Research Council e é parte dos eventos culturais que compõem a COP 26, realizada em novembro de 2021 na cidade de Glasgow. Em exposição no Glasgow Science Centre desde julho de 2021, o projeto propõe repensar radicalmente o papel dos museus diante dos desafios impostos pelas mudanças climáticas. Para tanto, considera o caráter colonialista dos museus, o racismo ambiental e reflete, a partir disso, sobre como museus comunitários poderiam constituir uma rede de resistência ecológica a partir do compartilhamento de histórias e dos patrimônios cosmológicos de comunidades que resistem, há séculos, à onto-epistemologia extrativista e genocida imposta aos povos africanos e ameríndios pela expansão colonial europeia. |
| Abstract: | The article presents the Existances Museumsproject, which was awarded in the Reimagining Museums for Climate Actioncompetitionpromoted by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council and waspart of the cultural events that made up COP 26, held in November 2021 in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. On display at the Glasgow Science Center betweenJuly and November 2021, the project proposedto radically rethink the role of museums in the face of the challenges posed by climate change. Therefore, it consideredthe colonialist character of museums, environmental racism and, from this, reflects on how community museums could constitute anetwork of ecological resistance by sharing histories and cosmological heritage of communities that have resisted, for centuries, to the extractivist and genocidal onto-epistemology imposed on African and Amerindian peoples by European colonial expansion. |
