Avaliação do impacto da formação de Técnicos em Saúde Bucal na rede pública de saúde no Estado de Minas Gerais

Abstract

The objective of this project was to evaluate the impact of training oral health technicians (TSB) in the public health care network in Minas Gerais/MG. 194 graduates participated in this study (rate response rate=81%). The TSB course is offered by the training school of the SUS of the State of MG, which make up the Network of Technical Schools of the Unified Health System (RetSUS), is organized into modules, from the perspective of the integrated curriculum, and includes all regions expanded state health services. Overall, your assessment was satisfactory, with a caveat for practical activities, which need to be reviewed. After completing the course, the graduate's insertion in the professional market, like TSB, it was very small. Only 11% work as TSB, with the majority continuing to work as ASB (68%). Among the difficulties encountered in its insertion is the lack of creation of TSB positions by municipal governments. Despite this, the few graduates who hold the position of TSB are inserted in the oral health teams of the Family Health Strategy, managing to carry out their duties, for the most part, and are considered fundamental for the improvement of oral health services.
