Abstract: | Este trabalho examina a Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) no Centro de Africanidade e Resistência Afro-Brasileira (Cenarab), focalizando arranjos espaciais, o lugar simbólico da professora e o material didático usado em sala de aula. Conquanto não seja propriamente um local religioso, o Cenarab é marcado por símbolos de cultos de matrizes africanas que interferem na experiência educativa da EJA. Fruto de uma pesquisa qualitativa, o trabalho coloca em relevo os conceitos de política de identidade, reconhecimento e currículo silencioso. Tomando como referência a obra Movimento Negro Educador de Nilma Gomes (2017), recorremos aos estudos de Gonçalves, McLaren e Frago. Por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas e observação participante, constatamos que a proposta da EJA pode contribuir para construção de uma sociedade em que o diferente não seja tratado com desprezo, nem como ameaça. |
Abstract: | This work examines the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in the Centre for Africanity and Afro-Brazilian Resistance (Cenarab), focusing on its special arrangements as a symbolic place by the teacher and the courseware utilized in the classes. Even if it is not a religious location, Cenarab is marked by symbols of cults rooted in African diaspora religions which denotes your position in the realm of the sacred. Such procedure interferes in the educational experience of EJA. The present study comes from a qualitative research highlighting the concepts of identity politics, politics of recognition and silent curriculum. Having as main reference Nilma Gomes’s book Movimento Negro Educador (Black Educator Movement) (2017), contemplating more references such as Gonçalves, McLaren and Frago. Through semi-structured interviews and participant observation, we found out that EJA’s proposal could contribute for the construction of a society in which the different is not treated with despise, neither as a threat. |
