| Abstract: | Fundamentado na obra de Theodor Adorno, este estudo visa investigar as características distintivas da televisão em comparação com outros segmentos da indústria cultural, destacando sua singularidade e, ao mesmo tempo, a maneira como ela se integra ao amplo espectro da cultura de massa. A análise proposta se concentrará em compreender como esse meio de comunicação reforça o status quo ao difundir conteúdos que refletem e perpetuam as ideologias hegemônicas na sociedade. Nessa perspectiva, pretendemos demonstrar tanto a necessidade quanto a possibilidade de uma prática televisiva que aspire à emancipação, promovendo uma consciência crítica e estimulando reflexões que possam conduzir a uma sociedade mais justa e democrática. |
| Abstract: | Based on Theodor Adorno's work, this study aims to investigate the distinctive characteristics of television compared to other segments of the cultural industry, highlighting its singularity and, at the same time, how it integrates into the broader spectrum of mass culture. The proposed analysis will focus on understanding how this medium reinforces the status quo by disseminating content that reflects and perpetuates hegemonic ideologies in society. From this perspective, we intend to demonstrate both the necessity and the possibility of a television practice that aspires to emancipation, promoting critical awareness and stimulating reflections that can lead to a fairer and more democratic society. |
