Abstract: | In this study, we applied the methodological tool of the Legitimation Code Theory (LCT), dimension of specialization, to the discourses of farmers with different educational backgrounds involved in agroforestry technique training, one of the main practices of agroecology. A family farmer (training participant), an agronomist (training technician) and an agroforestry (training technician) were interviewed. Each interview was analyzed using three tools of this dimension: specialization – revealing the codes of specialization, epistemic relations – revealing knowledge insights and social relations – revealing the knowers’ gazes. We established an analysis methodology considering the concepts of LCT. The analysis made it possible to understand how each one of the actors involved in the study legitimizes his/her knowledge and how each one legitimizes himself/herself as a knower within the field. This study contributes to the field of agroecology by approaching agroecological learning with family farmers, seeking to discuss this topic not yet discussed in the field. |
