dc.description.abstractThe high demand for water resources utilization in the state of Minas Gerais necessitates improved control and understanding of their usage, both for urban and industrial purposes. Considering that a significant portion of the water supply in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte relies on the Rio das Velhas, understanding the rainfall patterns and their effects on the drainage flow in the region is crucial for water management. By analyzing historical data from rainfall and river flow monitoring stations in Nova Lima, it is observed that precipitation rates, annual rainfall intensity, and the flow of the Rio das Velhas are directly related. It is noticeable that from the year 2013 onwards, there has been a decrease in the river's flow despite not experiencing a significant decrease in precipitation, which may indicate an increase in the number of water abstraction in the region. If this situation of decreased water flow in one of the main drainage systems in the region is not controlled, it could lead to limitations in water supply.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoA alta demanda de utilização dos recursos hídricos no estado de Minas Gerais gera a necessidade de melhor controle e entendimento de seu uso, seja para abastecimento urbano ou industrial. Sabendo que grande parte do abastecimento da Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte é realizada por captações no Rio das Velhas, o entendimento dos ciclos pluviométricos e seus efeitos sobre a vazão dessa drenagem na região é fundamental para a gestão das águas. Ao analisar os dados de séries históricas de estações pluviométrica e fluviométrica de Nova Lima, tem-se que as taxas de precipitações, intensidade das chuvas anuais e vazão do Rio das Velhas estão diretamente relacionadas. É perceptível que a partir do ano de 2013 ocorre queda na vazão do rio mesmo não ocorrendo queda tão significativa da pluviometria, o que pode evidenciar aumento do número de captações na região. Caso esse quadro, de diminuição hídrica de uma das principais drenagens da região não seja contornado, pode ocasionar limitações para o abastecimento da mesmapt_BR
