Abstract: | The region studied is located in the southern portion of the Gorutuba River Basin, in the north of Minas Gerais, in an area of approximately 2,140.80 km² and covers part of the municipalities of Janaúba, Porteirinha, Nova Porteirinha, Riacho dos Machados and Francisco Sá. The basin analyzed is within the Rio Verde Grande River Basin Committee (SF10 – CBH). Data on underground, surface and unidentified grants were used to understand how the number of grants evolved over time, in addition to the respective sums of the granted flows in effect in each year of analysis. For this study, the period evaluated was defined as 12 years, starting in 2010 and ending in 2022. Based on the results, it can be seen that underground concessions represent almost all types of water collection for the basin, and Janaúba and Nova Porteirinha are the municipalities that collect the most water, both in terms of the number of concessions and the flow rate. The main purpose of water use for the basin is irrigation, which can be explained by the increase in agriculture in the region, which represents the main economic activity of the municipalities. In addition, other important purposes of water collection are public supply and industry. |
