Ciência da informação, direitos humanos e segmento LGBT: uma perspectiva epistemológica da produção científica em teses e dissertações do catálogo digital do portal da CAPES

Abstract

The investigation developed sought to verify the real possibilities of a theoretical construction based on the connection between epistemology, based on a methodology that enables the survey and search for Information Science (IC) documents, associated with human rights, in its relational concreteness between the theory and its practical applicability, with the scientific production of theses and dissertations as the investigative framework with regard to the LGBT segment. In view of the above, the motivating question for the research problem was based on: how to map, identify and relate scientific production of theses and dissertations on human rights and the LGBT population with the social protagonism of LGBT subjects and social movements that work to defend rights this segment? Therefore, the general objective was to map and identify theses and dissertations from the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and build, based on a theoretical foundation of an epistemological nature, a conceptualization relating to the relationship between human rights and the LGBT population and the proposal of its own methodology. The specific objectives were: a) Map the theses and dissertations that present studies related to the LGBT population associated with human rights in the CAPES Catalog of Theses and Dissertations; b) Identify the areas and sub-areas of knowledge that produce the most theses and dissertations on the LGBT population in direct interaction with the field of human rights; c) Analyze the postgraduate programs that produce the most theses and dissertations on the LGBT population associated with the field of human rights; d) List the main postgraduate programs in human rights, extracted from theses and dissertations, linked to the LGBT segment; e) Observe whether in theses and dissertations recovered from postgraduate programs in human rights it is possible to verify the constitution of social protagonism. In order to achieve the proposed objective, a bibliometric methodology was used with an exploratory, descriptive, bibliographic and documentary approach, with quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data collected in the database, through searches carried out using keywords with a direct connection with the themes of human rights and the LGBT population in the digital catalog of theses and dissertations on the CAPES portal, associated with the convergent methodology. It can be concluded that the instruments used for data collection and analysis met the objectives proposed by the research. It is considered that there is a dialogue between the social movement and the scientific community based on the two themes researched, in which researchers are the link in the organizational chain as they are at the center of the interaction through the dialogical relationship between the movement, society with based on the two themes studied, highlighting social protagonism.
