| Abstract: | Este artigo discute o acento primário e sua relação com a morfologia a partir da análise do acento primário proposta por Lee (2007), à luz da Teoria da Otimalidade (Prince; Smolensky, 1993). Argumenta-se que o português possui o padrão acentual misto de troqueu silábico e iambo e que a Morfologia é altamente relacionada à determinação do acento primário do português – o acento deve ter o acesso à categoria lexical e à estrutura interna das palavras, como o radical no não verbo e a vogal temática no verbo |
| Abstract: | This paper discusses BP primary stress and its relationship to morpho-logy, based on the analysis proposed in Lee (2007) in the framework of Optimality Theory (Prince; Smolensky, 1993). It is argued that primary stress in Portuguese presents a mixed rhythm pattern (trochee and iamb), and that morphology is hi-ghly involved with the positioning of primary stress in this language. We will show that stress must have access to the lexical category and the internal structure of words, such as the stem in non-verbs and the thematic vowel in verbs. |
