Sistemas ERP: conceitos e considerações para evitar o fracasso do projeto

Abstract

In recent years, integrated management systems or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), became widely used by organizations. They are presented as a "solution" to the vast majority of business problems. Systems are able to integrate all the information that turned by the company through a single database. The literature on the subject presents a series of positive results and benefits to be derived from theadoption of these systems. However, the difficulties to be faced and the greatness of the changes to be made to obtain the benefits are not told so clearly to the companies. There are several ERP vendors in the market since individual developers, the global companies like SAP and Oracle, and more specifically in Brazil companies that have grown into giants such as National TOTVS. This work proposes a reflection on how important the empowerment of people, knowledge of business processes, the future vision of "business of the company" by managers and clarity of ideas and goals pursued by the acquisition of an ERP. Wehighlight the features of ERP systems, the selection process, implementation and use, its benefits and disadvantages and their impact on organizations and aims to contribute to the maturing of knowledge about these systems and the creation of theoretical models for analyzing the benefits these systems can bring to companies, as well as difficulties related to them.
