Abstract

The work contains a discussion of integration and performance of dentists in public health, specifically in primary care. It explains the daily challenge of oral health teams entered in the Program of Family Health, where professionals are challenged to change a model of health care and welfare traditionally run into different situations that impede change. It is reported the author's experience in a Team of Family Health of the city of Itambacuri - MG, which illustrates the reality of this team very peculiar.
