dc.description.abstractThe Family Health strategy plays a key role in health promotion and disease prevention. Breastfeeding is one of the goals of health teams, because breastfeeding prevents diseases, speeds up maternal recuperation, as well, most importantly, promotes infant growth and development. The health staff must acts on implement to breastfeeding, dispelling myths and guiding about its benefits to mother and baby. This work, a literature review, was conducted to identify and register scientific evidence of the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother in the puerperal period, as well as the advantages for the newborn. In the end, recommendations and directives are made for the performance of health family team.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoA estratégia de Saúde da Família tem um papel fundamental na promoção de saúde e prevenção de agravos de doenças. O aleitamento materno é um dos objetivos das equipes, pois previne doenças, acelera a recuperação materna, bem como, o mais importante, promove o crescimento e desenvolvimento infantil. A equipe de saúde deve atuar na adesão ao aleitamento materno, desfazendo mitos e orientando sobre seus benefícios para a mãe e bebê. O presente trabalho, uma revisão de literatura, foi realizado com o objetivo de identificar e registrar evidências científicas dos benefícios do aleitamento materno para a mãe no período puerperal, bem como as vantagens para o recém nascido. Ao final, são tecidas recomendações e diretrizes para a atuação da equipe de saúde da família.pt_BR
