| Title: | Importância da atuação da Equipe de Saúde Bucal junto a família do recém-nascido na visita domiciliar puerperal |

| Abstract: | O presente trabalho identificou aspectos conceituais sobre as visitas domiciliares para recémnascidos no Programa de Saúde da Família e levantou as ações de saúde bucal desenvolvidas durante a visita domiciliar puerperal. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa da literatura com a seleção de vinte e nove trabalhos publicados no período de 2000 a 2011. Recomenda-se que a equipe de saúde bucal deve atuar juntamente com a equipe de saúde da família durante a visita domiciliar puerperal adotando ações que envolvam educação, orientação, aconselhamento e treinamento dos familiares. Concluiu-se que o recém-nascido devido a sua vulnerabilidade é classificado como grupo de alto risco e que é de suma importância a intervenção precoce com a priorização das ações de saúde bucal voltadas para seus familiares, estimulando-os ao cuidado, à prevenção e a prática de hábitos saudáveis. A equipe de saúde bucal ao implantar essa atividade pode contribuir com a diminuição dos problemas de saúde bucal e a melhoria da qualidade de vida das crianças. |
| Abstract: | The present study identified the conceptual aspects of home visits for newborns in the Family Health Program and raised oral health actions developed during the postpartum home visit. It is a Narrative review of the literature with the selection of twenty-nine studies published between 2000 to 2011. It is recommended that the oral health team must work together with the team of family health during the postpartum home visit adopting actions that involve education, orientation, family counseling and training. It was concluded that the newborn due to their vulnerability is classified as high risk group and that is of paramount importance to early intervention with the prioritization of oral health actions aimed at their families, encouraging them to care, to the prevention and practicing healthy habits. The oral health team to implement this activity may contribute to the decline of oral health problems and improving the quality of life of children. |
