Contribuição para a organização do cuidado à saúde dos trabalhadores na Unidade Básica de Saúde Zico Nunes

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to contribute to the organization of health care provided to rural workers living in the area covered by the Basic Health Unit Zico Nunes, in the district of Patos de Minas MG. A survey of users registered in the basic health unit was carried out. The users were grouped according to age, gender, education and occupation. A review of literature was performed focusing on the health effects arising from the exposure of workers to pesticides. It was found that the majority of the population living in the catchment area work with rural activities and many of these workers handle pesticides.The literature review had shown, among other things, that exposure to pesticides, lack of information on health risks and low education are determining factors to worsen the health of rural workers. It is considered that the Primary Health Care plays an important role in the intervention of the health-disease process of rural workers, especially in the guidance on the risks of using pesticides and reinforcement of the importance of protective measures.
