Inserção da saúde bucal na Estratégia de Saúde da Família: resultados alcançados em Rio Vermelho/MG

Abstract

The oral health is conceived as a part integral of the general health of the individual and as such needs to be guaranteed by the state through public policies ensuring the access of all the individuals for a dental service resolutive and humanized. The health care in Brazil is the Undefied Health System, that has as principles the universality, the integralitye, the equality, the social participation and also the decentralization. The Family Health Program is the main strategy of consolidation of this model. The oral health teams were inserted into Family Health Teams in order to improve the epidemiological oral health of the population, increasing the population's access to this service, refocus and humanize the actions of dentistry in primary care. This report intends to show the achievements in the reconstruction of oral health services in the municipality of Rio Vermelho, Minas Gerais, with the insertion of dental professionals in the Family Health Team. The information was obtained through a review of relevant literature including articles to the subject matter published in the last 10 years. The bases used were Scielo, Virtual Health Library (VHL), and Virtual Library Agora Platform. Were consulted in departmental publications, publications state and municipal documents as well as system information. After examining the documents it was noted that in the last years there have been undoubted progress in oral health in the country provided by the insertion in family health and the adoption of a national policy for oral health effectively. In Rio Vermelho the most valuable results occurred in relation to infrastructure functioning of dentistry. Challenges such as lack of supplies, outdated equipment and lack of working conditions were completely overcome. The process of team work has also passed by significant changes, as the prioritization of collective action, the inclusion in operating groups, the change in the population's access to the service through the demand schedule, prioritizing groups for attending, the institution of Permanent Education in Health and education service interaction through supervised internships. Partnerships with other sectors of society were valuable. Finally we should note that the inclusion of oral health on family health is a commendable strategy. There are still problems to be solved, but now the service oral health of Rio Vermelho is able to continue making progress in complying with the guidelines of the National Oral Health Policy and National Primary Care.
