Protocolo de cuidado à saúde do idoso na Unidade Básica de Saúde da Família dos bairros Icaivera e Parque do Cedro

Abstract

Old age is the last stage of human development. The elderly, in their biological, psychological and social transformations have their own, requiring different types of assistance, especially to health. As aging is not a homogeneous process, needs and demands of the elderly vary, being necessary to strengthen the networking to include attention to the elderly healthy and meet those with different degrees of disability or illness, including homes. The aging of the population has been going rapidly leading social, cultural and epidemiological. This study aimed to conduct a review of the literature on health care for the elderly and draft a protocol, to organize assistance to the elderly residents in the area covered by the Basic Health Unit Family Neighborhood Icaivera. Was therefore conducted a literature search in databases of the Virtual Health Library in documents of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Health of Minas Gerais and the Municipal Health Department of Belo Horizonte. The literature showed that the stigma of old age, leads people to associate aging with a period conducive to disease. The training of professionals who have the task of caring for the health of elderly users, must be considered because there is a significant lack of professionals with this qualification. Evidence shows that senior care in a fragmented way, without evaluation of its functionality and without understanding the impact of aging on health-disease processes have a negative impact on their health, understood as the greatest welfare biopsychosocial, and not merely the absence of disease . It is concluded that the use of the protocol of senior care produces better results and describes the assistance.
