Riscos ocupacionais para os trabalhadores da saúde bucal: uma revisão da literatura

Abstract

As part of the team of primary health care, oral health workers are exposed to several risks to their health during their routine work. This study aimed to analyze the scientific production about occupational risk in oral health and their contributions to the Oral Health team performance in Family Health Strategy (FHS). To this end, used as a methodological approach the integrative review with time frame covering the period of 2000 to 2011 and with the following keywords: occupational risk, dentistry, primary health care, Family Health Program and Community Dentistry. We chose to work with the publication of articles, dissertations and theses of many authors of the Portuguese language. 34 articles were selected and after several readings they showed following results: 48,27% of the articles spoke of occupational diseases related to biological risks and other types of contamination; 44,82% touched on osteomuscular disorders; 3,44% spoke about the noise they are exposed surgeons dentists and 3,44% spoke about the violence. These findings point to reflections on the various risks that permeate the daily work of the dentist and his team and meeting effective strategies that can minimize the effects and the risks they are exposed with a view to maintaining health and quality of life.
