| Abstract: | A posição do côndilo em cirurgia ortognática é abordada nesta monografia, com base em revisões de literatura, a qual alguns autores descrevem pré, trans e pós-operatórios com alterações na morfologia, funcionalidade e anatomia da articulação têmporo mandibular. Foram revisados artigos de 1994 à 2008, com acompanhamento de pacientes em pós operatórios de cirurgia ortognática, e neles alguns cirurgiões usam dispositivos para posicionamento do côndilo enquanto outros não acreditam em um posicionamento prévio. Na literatura ainda não se tem consenso de qual é a melhor posição para o côndilo e nem qual melhor técnica a ser usada, concluindo que esse assunto é algo vago e desconhecido por muitos profissionais da área. |
| Abstract: | The position of the condyle in orthognathic surgery is discussed in this monograph, based on literature reviews, which some authors describe preoperatively, during surgery and postoperatively with changes in morphology, function and anatomy of the temporomandibular joint. Articles between 1994 and 2008 were reviewed with followup of patients in postoperative orthognathic surgery, and some surgeons use them devices for positioning condyle while others do not believe in a pre-positioning. In the literature there is still no consensus on which is the best position for the condyle nor how best technique to be used, concluding that this issue is somewhat vague and unknown by many professionals. |
