Educação em saúde na terapia intensiva: intervenções do Enfermeiro

Abstract

The Center of Intensive Therapy - CIT is an uncomfortable place and high technology, marked by detachment of the society and lack of privacy. The hospitalization in this section is preceded by organic compromised, presents and potential, that place in risk the life of being sick. Therefore it is indispensable that the patients and relatives are prepared and guided, therefore they confront with an unknown atmosphere. It is objectified in this study to discuss about the nurse interventions as educator in health of CIT. For so much, did a Integrative Revision in which was based in studies gotten in the Nursing Database (BDENF) in the Latin-American Literature and of Caribbean in Sciences of the Health (LILACS), of the Virtual Library in Health (BVS); in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations of the University of São Paulo (USP); for reverse search and for specialist's indication. The results evidenced the education in health as an intrinsic practice of the process of work of Nursing, in spite of not always the male nurses be involved in her. Before that, we considered that there is the nurse need involve more with the educational process. It is hoped that this study contribute to the professionals who work in CIT and health institutions, so that they can reflect on the importance of education in health as a relevant tool to be used during a patient stays in CIT.
