Lesões e achados clínicos causados pelo trauma em gestante

Abstract

The trauma caused by traffic accidents is one the principal causes of maternal deaths, as non-obstetric causes in the last years. Studies conducted in the 90s reported that 7% of pregnant women suffered some that kind of trauma. In articles were found information on injuries that affect the pregnant traumatized victim and the peculiar changes caused by the same. From the particularities of pregnant woman, and a specific approach to post-trauma, questions about major injuries that can occur in traumatized pregnant woman were raised, as well as the clinical situation found during evaluation. The purpose of this article is to identify the evidence on the clinical discoveries and major injuries caused by trauma in pregnant. Those are integrative literature reviews which were elaborated through research articles in MEDLINE, LILACS, and SCIELO in the period of 1998 - 2012. Five texts were selected, one published in 1998, two in 2004, one in 2005 and the other in 2011. The analysis allowed to acquire knowledge regarding abdominal trauma involving mother and fetus to identify the lesions in the abdominal region are related to the piors prognosis for the mother and the fetus. The consequences are direct lesions in the uterus, causing abdominal pain, loss of amniotic fluid, uterine contractions, vaginal bleeding, placental abruption, risk of preterm delivery, maternal and fetal death. The hypovolemic shock is the most common cause of death and hardly identified at first. This information will facilitate the emergency physician professional to evaluate, understand, predict and address more efficiently and effectively the patient.
