Vigilância da busca pós-alta e a infecção de sítio cirúrgico: revisão integrativa

Abstract

This study deals with an integrative literature review in order to identify the advantage of post-discharge follow-up of the surgical patient. To select the articles were consulted four Database - BDENF, IBECS, MEDLINE and LILAC being included nine items. For preparing the content, structured information is organized in a comprehensible and didactic way so that your goal was easily identified through a logical sequence. The problem was that guided the work: As the post-discharge search helps in detection of surgical site infection? Surgical patients must be followed since the surgery until hospital discharge and still be followed after hospital discharge. It is known that is of great importance to realize some kind of surveillance of the surgical patient after discharge, the surveillance conducted only in the patient's hospital stay may lead to underreporting of the incidence of infection at the surgical site. This research is justified because of the need and importance of post-discharge search, which is considered a complete tool for epidemiological surveillance of surgical patients, in order to obtain reliable and consistent data rates of surgical site infections. It was concluded the importance of post-discharge follow-up in order to improve the reliability of the incidence rates of surgical site infections. And yet, improve the quality of patient care and epidemiological understanding of surgical site infection, and enable the implementation of measures aimed at prevention and control.
