| Abstract: | O crescente aumento da população idosa no Brasil e no mundo vem evidenciando que as pessoas e instituições não estão preparadas para lidar com as questões sociais e psíquicas típicas do envelhecimento. Assim, a violência contra idosos vem adquirindo mais e mais relevância e deve estar inserida na agenda pública brasileira. O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar evidências científicas sobre a violência contra idosos através de uma revisão narrativa. Os resultados apontam que os principais fatores que contribuem para a ocorrência dos maus tratos aos idosos podem estar relacionados ao despreparo no convívio com as dificuldades próprias do envelhecimento, como doenças degenerativas que atingem os idosos, empobrecimento da população que tem forçado o convívio entre as gerações, assim como ausência de políticas públicas para a saúde e a assistência social que deixa a população idosa exposta à violência social, psicológica e física. A partir deste estudo pode-se perceber a importância de promover educação para a cidadania no âmbito do envelhecimento na sociedade em geral, visando a valorização do idoso, o respeito a ele e a garantia de seus direitos. |
| Abstract: | The increasing elderly population in Brazil and in the world have been confirming that the persons and institutions are not prepared to deal with social issues and psychological typical of aging. Thus, the violence against the elderly are gaining more and more important and must be inserted on the public brazilian diary. The objective of this work was to identify scientific evidences on the violence against the elderly through a narrative review. The results indicate that the main factors that contribute to the occurrence of the ill treatment of elderly patients may be related to the lack of socialising with the difficulties of aging and degenerative diseases that affect the elderly, to the impoverishment of the population that has forced the conviviality between generations, as well as the absence of public policies for the health and social care that leaves the population of the elderly exposed to social violence, psychological and physical. From this study, it was possible to realize the importance of promoting education for citizenship in the context of an aging population on society in general, with a view to the exploitation of the elderly, the respect to him, and the guarantee of their rights. |
