| Abstract: | Ao longo dos anos, com a evolução da odontologia, percebeu-se a importância da manutenção da saúde periodontal. Através de estudos aprofundados os cirurgiões-dentistas puderam compreender melhor a morfologia e funcionamento do selamento biológico e das distancias biológicas ao redor de dentes e implantes. O espaço biológico é uma região anatômica que compreende a distância entre a margem gengival e a crista óssea alveolar com uma dimensão média de três mm. Uma vez invadido e não reestabelecido este espaço, futuramente podem surgir lesões no periodonto de inserção incluindo formação de bolsas periodontais, recessões gengivais e perda óssea. Esta revisão de literatura tem como objetivo definir e fazer uma comparação do espaço biológico entre dentes e implantes, com suas respectivas características. |
| Abstract: | Over the years, with the evolution of dentistry realized the importance of maintaining periodontal health. Through in-depth studies dentists could better understand the morphology and function of biological and biological sealing around teeth and implants distances. Biological width is an anatomical region that includes the distance between the gingival margin and alveolar crest with an average size of 3 mm. Once invaded and not reinstated this space in the future may arise lesions in periodontal insertion, including periodontal pocket formation, gingival recession and bone loss. This literature review aims to define and make a comparison of the biological space between teeth and implants. |
