Testes clínicos para predição de lesões musculoesqueléticas em atletas: revisão de literatura

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify screening tests described in the literature capable of predicting musculoskeletal injuries in athletes. A literature review was carried out using the Pubmed and Scielo databases as search sources. The descriptors used for the search were: injury, prediction, sports, and their correspondents in English, using "and" and "or" for their combinations. We initially found 289 articles, of which 228 articles were excluded after reading the title, 13 after reading the abstract or abstract and 33 after reading the studies. After the selection process, 15 articles were included, 3 other articles were included from the bibliographical references. In all, 18 articles were selected, which followed the following inclusion criteria: studies in Portuguese or English that evaluated the predictive value of tests for musculoskeletal injuries in athletes or regular practitioners of any sport, of both sexes. From the analysis of the articles were found 10 clinical tests capable of predicting musculoskeletal injuries in athletes. The tests used in the study detected a risk of injury occurring in the majority of the lower limbs. Some of them more specifically detected ACL injuries and ankle sprains, as well as hamstring and patellar tendon injuries.
