Abstract

With the intense information flow, made possible by technology,information sharing and dissemination are configured throughout the information society. The Internet today is no longer considered simply a global network of computers, but a worldwide network of people. This perception becomes the reality, creating different expectations and endless possibilities for content production. Thus, further expands the challenges in managing information and knowledge. The Internetand its tools have produced what we now call Web 2.0 that has a collaborative nature. There are several tools that represent this environment, for example, blogs and social networks and, in particular, the tools in Wikipedia wikis that have the best and most famous representation: a free software, with development in acollaboration. A global information system, in which people can together build and share information and knowledge. Thus, the concepts of collaboration and information sharing, this article aims to define the mass collaboration and its potential through the wiki tool represented by Wikipedia, and Wikipedia have the relationship with the concept of collective intelligence proposed by Pierry Levy.
