Estudo sobre a evolução das internações hospitalares por hipertenção essencial (primária), no município de Medina, Minas Gerais: uma patologia sensível ao cuidado primário no período de 2000 a 2010

Abstract

The Ministry of Health adopts the term Atenção Básica (Basic Care) and defines it as the first level of health care, and the gateway to the SUS, involving actions of promotion and prevention, as well as curative and rehabilitation carried out by multidisciplinary team with focus on family and their socio-cultural and territory (BRAZIL, 2006). The present work studied the evolution and the profile of hospital admissions for essential hypertension (primary) in the city of Medina, Minas Gerais, in the period from 2000 to 2010 and sought to describe the actions provided for hypertensive patients for the reduction of hospital admissions. A bibliographic survey was carried out in publications about the Unified Health System (SUS), the principles which guide the primary health care and researched documents of the Municipality of Medina and the Minas Gerais State Department of Health for a description of actions for the treatment of essential hypertension (primary) of clinical protocols. It was observed that during the period of the study there was a decrease in the hospitalizations for essential hypertension (primary), considered a pathology sensitive to primary care in health care. It is believed that such a reduction might be related to the investments made in primary care in the city, with the expansion of the actions of the Family Health teams and the creation of the Core of Support for the Health of the Family.
