Abstract

This paper is a review of the literature on obesity in childhood and adolescence. Were found in the work the causes andconsequences of obesity and the importance of prevention. Rising rates of obesity in childhood and adolescence is of concern and has become a worldwide problem. You already know that a sedentary lifestyle associated with poor diet are the main causesof obesity. In this case, priority is prevention and this should be done in infancy, thus avoiding the consequences that will appear in adulthood, most often irreversible.
