Abstract

This study aims to show the importance of an accurate marginal adaptation, from a cervical finishing correct for longevity of the prosthesis, then suggesting a technical change, thus obtaining a better smoothness and marginal fit for fixed prosthesis. To carry out the preparation was followed in the footsteps of the technique of silhouette. This technique was advocated by the Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry of Bauru, and University of Sao Paulo. The technique allows the operator a real sense of the amount of tooth worn by performing the preparation of the first half of the tooth, preserving the other half for evaluation. It then made a modification of the technique of preparing the region ending neck, where it is used a round bur carbite 08 for high speed used in a multiplier, positioned at an angle of 45 degrees making a continuous wear around the entire end cervical deepening and removing irregularities and tooth enamel. So defining the end of the line, the end width, geometry, smoothness for better adaptation and better flow of cement and even molding and other steps.
