Cuidados básicos ao recém-nascido: orientando puérperas e profissionais da atenção básica à saúde de Visconde do Rio Branco

Abstract

The prenatal period is a time when a woman goes through many changes and tends to suffer from insecurity, thus needing to be supported by health professionals trained to guide you on precautions to take with the child. In order to propose a guide to newborn care to be incorporated into training materials of the family health teams and also used in guidance to new mothers, a literature review was conducted by the Health Ministry manuals and databases Scielo in the subject area on the care of the newborn. This guide is to address important and necessary care to the newborn, such as growth and development of children under one year, accident prevention, oral health and oral hygiene, diarrhea and dehydration, personal hygiene and the environment, vaccination, breastfeeding and care for the umbilical stump. It is expected, with this research, stimulate the organization of work of health professionals and assist the mothers to newborns receive a quality service.
