Educação permanente sobre aleitamento materno: projeto de intervenção para uma assistência técnica de enfermagem com qualidade

Abstract

Breastfeeding is one of the most important strategies in the prevention of illness and death in newborns. Even before the recommendations and advantages, there is still a poor adherence of women to breastfeeding. Among the determinants of early weaning have been a reference to cry and hunger of children and insufficient breast milk, among others. The absence of guidelines on breastfeeding by professionals enhances the non-adherence or early weaning, especially the technical staff nursing watching uninterrupted mother-baby binomial in maternity wards. Thus, the continuing education of these professionals on this theme is success factor for the practice of breastfeeding. OBJECTIVE: To propose educational activities in health maternity nursing technical staff for guidance to pregnant and postpartum women about breastfeeding. METHOD: This is a narrative review of the literature on that topic and development actions based on the Situational Strategic Planning and Flash Estimate. CONCLUSION: The realization of this intervention project will provide practical nurses reflect on their care practice geared towards breastfeeding. It allows these professionals should discuss issues of their day-to-day work that makes it possible to identify strategies for continuous improvement of maternal and child care provided. In such sense, the institutional approval to carry out this proposal will benefit both the quality of care for mothers and newborns as maternity solving as a whole, because with the improvement of care to mother-child binomial may be discharged optimization and positive quality indicators
