dc.description.abstract	The research was carried out to analyze the scientific productivity in the scope of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), regarding the topic of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, Transsexual (LGBT). Using the dissertations and theses of the different Post-Graduation Programs (PPG), it was tried to verify if the academy has made use of this theme in the same proportion as the scientific production has developed over the last years. One reason for the development of the present study was the understanding that there are not many researches of this kind, which contemplate at the same time information and the LGBT segment. The researchs aim originated in the following question: Does scientific productivity, within the UFMG, contribute or not to the LGBTs assertion in the academic world? With such aim bibliometric researches were carried out through exploratory approach, exploratory, descriptive, bibliographical and documentary approaches, with quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data collected in UFMGs PPG, through keywords directly linked to the proposed thematic in the Univeristys Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The overall goal was to analyze the scientific production on the LGBT theme in such areas as the gray literature, the scope of the UFMG, the PPG as well as its contributions to reinforce the segment. The targets were: to map dissertations and theses on LGBT in BDTD / UFMG; Identify which programs are the most productive on the subject; to categorize the areas / subareas of greatest interest in the theme; to identify the main subjects researched in the theme; to study the relationship between what was produced by UFMG on the LGBT theme and the empowering of the community. The results show that in the UFMG, the subject is present in the PPG in five of the nine major areas of knowledge: Human Sciences, Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary and Literature, Linguistics and Arts, of which 11 PPG have addressed the issue on an ongoing basis since the year of 2000. In these same PPG was verified that 31 researchers from different departments have supervised theses and dissertations linked to the LGBT theme. With respect to the dissertations, there was an increase of 146% of the total produced from 2000 to 2009 in comparison with the period between 2010 and 2016. Now, in relation to the theses, this increase was of 225% of the total produced from 2000 to 2009 for the produced from 2010 to 2016. There were retrieved 45 documents, 32 dissertations and 13 theses with LGBT content. The other data refers to the fact that five teachers / researchers from different PPG are responsible for 43.48% of all works produced among theses and dissertations. Other 26 teachers amount to the percentage of 56.52%, and each have but a single study. It is understood that both the general objective and the specific objectives were positively answered. Regarding the researchs aim and according with the data collected and analyzed, it can be stated that the scientific production of the UFMG contributes to the affirmation of the LGBT segment in society when dealing with its main themes.	pt_BR
dc.description.resumo	A pesquisa foi realizada para analisar a produtividade científica no âmbito da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), em relação à temática de Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, Travestis, Transexuais (LGBT). Valendo-se das dissertações e teses dos diferentes Programas de Pós-Graduação (PPG), pretendeu-se verificar se essa temática já foi apropriada pela academia na mesma proporção que a produção científica tem se desenvolvido ao longo dos últimos anos. Uma das justificativas para o desenvolvimento do presente estudo foi o entendimento de que não existem muitas pesquisas dessa natureza, que contemplem, ao mesmo tempo, informação e o segmento LGBT. O problema motivador da investigação originou-se no seguinte questionamento: A produtividade científica, no âmbito da UFMG, contribui para a afirmação da temática LGBT no meio acadêmico? No ensejo de alcançar o objetivo proposto, utilizou-se da pesquisa blibliométrica de abordagem exploratória, descritiva, bibliográfica e documental, com análise quantitativa e qualitativa dos dados coletados nos PPG da UFMG, por meio de buscas realizadas por palavras-chave com ligação direta com a temática na sua Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD). O objetivo geral foi analisar a produção científica sobre a temática LGBT na literatura cinzenta, no âmbito da UFMG, nos PPG e suas contribuições para a afirmação do segmento. Os objetivos específicos consistiram em: mapear dissertações e teses sobre LGBT na BDTD/UFMG; identificar quais os programas que mais produzem sobre a temática; categorizar as áreas/subáreas de maior interesse na temática; identificar os principais assuntos pesquisados na temática; estudar a relação entre o que foi produzido pela UFMG sobre a temática LGBT e a afirmação do segmento. Os resultados alcançados indicam que, na UFMG, a temática está presente nos PPG, em cinco das nove grandes áreas do conhecimento, a saber: Ciências Humanas, Ciências da Saúde, Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Interdisciplinar e Linguística, Letras e Artes, nas quais 11 PPG trataram da temática desde o ano 2000 de maneira contínua. Nesses mesmos PPG verificou-se que 31 pesquisadores de diferentes departamentos têm orientado teses e dissertações vinculadas à temática LGBT. Em relação às dissertações, houve um aumento de 146% do total produzido de 2000 a 2009 para o período de 2010 a 2016. Já em relação às teses esse aumento foi de 225% do total produzido de 2000 a 2009 para o produzido de 2010 a 2016. Foram recuperados 45 documentos, sendo 32 dissertações e 13 teses com conteúdos da temática LGBT. O outro dado refere-se ao fato de que cinco professores/pesquisadores de diferentes PPG são responsáveis por 43,48% de todos os trabalhos produzidos entre estas teses e dissertações. Os outros 26 professores juntos totalizam o percentual de 56,52%, e cada um com apenas um único estudo. Compreende-se que tanto o objetivo geral quanto os objetivos específicos foram respondidos positivamente. Em relação à pergunta de pesquisa, mediante os dados coletados e analisados pode-se afirmar que a produção científica da UFMG contribui para a afirmação do segmento LGBT na sociedade ao tratar dos seus principais temas.	pt_BR
