Juventude e segurança pública: interpretando os sentidos constitutivos e avaliações técnicas do Programa Fica Vivo

Abstract

This paper casts a critical eye on the Programa Fica Vivo (Staying Alive Program), as set out in the fields of public security policy of the State of Minas Gerais from the year 2003, the change in orientation occurs predominantly repression that prevailed so far as the foundation of the action system criminal justice in this federal unit. Interest in the program in question is precisely the bases of principles that, beyond the centrality of public administration in the pursuit of social policies, it supports new mechanisms of interaction with non-governmental network, just aiming to give less conservative responses to the growing phenomenon of crime, which manifests itself acutely on youth, which appears explicitly, as both active and passive pole of violence. In this perspective, the paper aims to analyze the grounds of incorporation and also the vision that has this evaluative history of almost ten years because it believes that the symbolic universe of meanings that are forged and reconstruct the steps of a public policy are as significant as those that aim to empower young people in situations of social vulnerability.
