| Abstract: | Este trabalho avalia o fenômeno da alomorfia decorrente da flexão nominal de plural no Português Brasileiro. Visaremos demonstrar que este fenômeno requer uma explicação ampla que se manifesta adequadamente dentro de uma zona de interface entre os várioscomponentes da Gramática. Para tanto, procuramos buscar evidências que tentam caracterizar e explicar a alomorfia dentro de um Modelo Gramatical. Na expectativa de uma discussão sobre a alomorfia nominal de plural iremos considerar uma revisão da literatura sobre o tema, bem como avaliaremos alguns dos modelos teóricos capazes de acomodar o processo da variação alomórfica no Português Brasileiro. Uma vez que se trata de uma pesquisa de caráter eminentemente teórico, a natureza dos dados aqui apresentados são de introspecção e nos permitiram formular idéias e sujeitá-las à discussão. Este trabalho contribui primordialmente com a discussão sobre a alomorfia no contexto da organização gramatical ponderando sobre a formação de plural no Português Brasileiro. A avaliação geral é de que os modelos teóricos em desenvolvimento buscam expressar a relevância da Sintaxe na avaliação da alomorfia e que a interface entre a Sintaxe e outros componentes da Gramática, como a Fonologia, a Morfologia, a Semântica e o Léxico,é crucial para uma ampla caracterização da alomorfia. |
| Abstract: | This study evaluates the phenomenon of allomorphy involved in plural noun inflection in Brazilian Portuguese. We demonstrate that this phenomenon requires a broad explanation that would manifest itself in the zone of interface between the various components of Grammar. For this purpose, we seek evidence that can characterize and explain allomorphy within a Grammatical Model. In order to undertake a discussion on plural noun inflection in Brazilian Portuguese, we will carry out a revision on this theme and evaluate some theoretical models capable of accommodating the issue of allomorphic variation in Brazilian Portuguese. Since this research has an essentially theoretical basis, the data to be used is based on introspection, allowing us at the same time to formulate ideas and subject them to discussion. This study contributes to the debate of allomorphy in the context of grammatical organization, promoting reflections on the plural formation in Brazilian Portuguese. Wesuggest that the current theoretical models under development try to explain the relevance of Syntax accounting for allomorphy and that the interface between Syntax and other components of Grammar, such as Phonology, Morphology, Semantics and the Lexicon, seems crucial to a broad characterization of allomorphy. |
