| Abstract: | Este estudo tem por objetivo desvelar o estilo interativo de prostitutas que trabalham na Avenida Afonso Pena, região centro-sul, de Belo Horizonte. Em relação às estratégias linguísticas, buscou-se analisar quais elementos contribuíram para a promoção da polidez negativa, da polidez positiva e a relação estabelecida entre estes para com a construção da identidade social dessas mulheres. Neste trabalho foi realizada uma pesquisa etnográfica, nos moldes de um estudo de caso, pois essa metodologia permitiu a investigação detalhada de elementos considerando-se o contexto social em que as prostitutas estavam inseridas, dando voz às atrizes sociais. Os pressupostos teóricos de Goffman (1963, 1967) serviram como principal referência para o desenvolvimento das análises expostas ao longo dessa pesquisa,destacando-se também os estudos de Brown e Levinson (1987) e de Valério (2003) para o tratamento das estratégias de polidez e, os de Moita Lopes (2008), de Rajagopalan (1998) e de Ciampa (1992) para compreensão da construção da identidade social. A partir dos dadosobtidos, observou-se que o estilo interativo dessas prostitutas se pautou, de forma significativa, por um lado, em agregar elementos que consideram positivos para o exercício da prostituição e, por outro, em se desvencilhar de estigmas. |
| Abstract: | This study aims to reveal the interactive style of the prostitutes that work around the Afonso Pena Avenue, in the south central region of Belo Horizonte. According to the linguistic strategies, we have intended to analyze which aspects contributed for the establishment of negative and positive politeness, and the relation among them in the construction of the social identity of these women. In this work was conducted an ethnographic research, guided by a case study because this method allowed us a detailed investigation about some elements, considering the social context where the prostitutes were situated, giving voice to social actress. The theoretical basis of Goffman (1963, 1967) were used as main reference for the development of data analysis through this work, considering the studies of Brown and Levinson (1987) and Valério (2003) on politeness strategies, and Moita Lopes (2008), Rajagopalan (1998) and Ciampa (1992) in relation to the construction of social identity. Theresults show that the interactive style of these prostitutes was significantly based, on the one hand, adding elements that they consider positive for exercise of prostitution and, on the other, get rid of the stigmas. |
