| Abstract: | Nesta tese se encontra uma pesquisa sobre o humor na arte contemporânea, abordando-o em três aspectos: no tema do excremento recorrente desde Piero Manzoni, que pode ser verificado nos trabalhos de Paul McCarthy, Win Delvoye, Andres Serrano, Paulo Nazareth, etc, que nos aproximam dos conceitos de grotesco e de cinismo, fazendo uma crítica à ideia de civilização; nas obras de artistas latino-americanos que se debruçam sobre as questões políticas e de poder estabelecidas desde o período colonial até os dias de hoje, em trabalhos de Nadín Ospina, Luis Camnitzer, Héctor Zamora, Javier Téllez etc, que buscam estratégias para enfraquecer poderes autoritários e opressivos; e nos trabalhos das artistas que se identificam com uma identidade feminista, como Judy Chicago, as Guerrillas Girls, Melanie Bonajo, entre outras, tentando se inserir na história da arte, com suas particularidades que envolvem também seus humores. Faz parte também deste trabalho, a apresentação da história de Elinor, uma boneca de pano que viveu alguns dias do mês de novembro de 2016, com os estudantes secundaristas acampados em suas escolas em protesto contra as mudanças na educação propostas pelo governo de Michel Temer, presidente do Brasil, desde o golpe que retirou Dilma Rousseff de seu cargo. O amargo humor da arte contemporânea não tenta definir tipos de humores, mas sim, observar as contradições que o conformam, tentando entender sobre a arte e o nosso tempo. |
| Abstract: | The research on humor in contemporary art led me to divide the artists selected a for this study in three groups, according to the theme of their work: those who present the subject of excrement, recurrent since Piero Manzoni and which can be found in the works of Paul McCarthy, Win Delvoye, Andres Serrano, Paulo Nazareth, etc.; artists who identify themselves with the feminist cause, such as Judy Chicago, the Guerrillas Girls, Melanie Bonajo, etc.; and the Latin Americans who are concerned with political and power issues, such as Nadín Ospina, Luis Camnitzer, Héctor Zamora, Javier Téllez, among others. This work also presents the history of Elinor, a cloth doll who, in November 2016, lived for a few days together with high-school students that occupied their schools in protest against the changes in education imposed by the government of Michel Temer, the new president of Brazil after the coup that removed former president Dilma Rousseff. The bitter humor of contemporary art does not try to define the types of humor, but to observe the contradictions that shape them, trying to understand art and our time. |
