| Abstract: | Este trabalho consiste na edição crítica dos sermões de Eusébio de Matos (1629-1692), antecedida por uma breve explanação sobre o autor e a sua obra, bem como pela descrição extrínseca de suas edições príncipes e pelo levantamento por amostragem de suas características intrínsecas. Na introdução, menciona-se a importância dos sermões para o conhecimento da prosa literária seiscentista. Menciona-se ainda a contribuição que a edição e o estudo desse gênero podem dar a áreas de pesquisa que levam em conta a literatura e sua relação com a cultura e a sociedade. No primeiro capítulo, informam-se dados da biobibliografia do autor e da recepção de sua obra. No segundo capítulo, apresentam-se a descrição bibliológica das edições príncipes dos sermões e as reflexões crítico-filológicas que nortearam as etapas do trabalho de edição, tais como a escolha do tipo, o estabelecimento dos seus critérios gerais e de suas normas específicas. No terceiro capítulo, expõe-se a edição crítica dos sermões, organizados por data de publicação e acompanhados de cópia fac-similar de suas edições príncipes. Por último, nas considerações finais, realiza-se uma apreciação dos objetivos propostos, do trabalho realizado e de seus possíveis desdobramentos. Anexos e apêndices acompanham este trabalho para complementar ou ilustrar informações. |
| Abstract: | This dissertation consists of a critical edition of Eusébio de Matos (1629-1692) sermons, introduced by a brief explanation about the author and its oeuvre, with an extrinsic description of his first editions presented in a sample scheme that also portrays intrinsic characteristics. In the introduction, it is highlighted the importance of the sermons for the background knowledge of the sixteenth century literary prose. It is also mentioned the contribution that an edition and a study of this genre can provide to the fields of research of literature and its relation with culture and society. In the first chapter, the biographical and bibliographical accounts of the author and the reception of his work are pointed out. The second chapter presents the descriptive bibliography of the first editions of the sermons and the criticphilological reflections that directed the phases of the editorial work, such as: the choosing of the kind, the establishment of the general criteria and its specific rules. The third chapter displays the critical edition of the sermons, organized by the date of publication followed by the facsimile copy of the first editions. The last part brings the final considerations of this study with an analysis of the objectives proposed in this work and its possible future bindings. There are attachments that complement and illustrate some information presented in this dissertation. |
