A relação dos bibliotecários com a profissão, com a rotina profissional e com os usuários a partir de uma perspectiva compreensiva

Abstract

The perception gap between the theory and practice of professional librarians in relation to routine professional and user studies of information is the central theme of this research. The problem in this research was developed from two questions, the first relates to the work of the librarian, as how is his wont and what are your priorities and the second on was how librarians perceive their users, what actions undertaken by them to establish representation of who are the users of the library. The main goal was to understand how librarians see, describe and define these users and the relation of this construction to the daily professional practice. To achieve the goal were conducted 10 interviews with librarians from academic and specialized libraries. Through the look provided by the comprehensive approach was performed to analyze the interviews. The results indicated that the respondents provided the user perception based on unsystematic and spontaneous methods, since they did not perform user studies. These professional think they use to work a lot performing their jobs. The academic librarians prioritize tasks related to the administration of the library instead tasks related to service user on specialized library.
